We’re Stephanie Grutz and Alex Goerdt, co-founders of The Health Spa by Vive IV Therapy and Select Balance Supplements—a collaborative vision rooted in personal experience, professional passion, and a shared belief in deeper healing.

From Personal Healing to Professional Purpose

In 2014, Stephanie’s journey into integrative health began not as a provider, but as a patient. After being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, she struggled with fatigue, malabsorption, and ongoing symptoms that conventional care couldn’t resolve. Her search for healing led her to IV nutrient therapy—a modality that made a profound difference in her own life.

That experience opened her eyes to a better way: one that treats the root cause, honors the whole person, and empowers people to take control of their health. As a board-certified family nurse practitioner, Stephanie made it her mission to bring that approach to others—and Vive IV Therapy was born.

Building Something Different

In 2016, we opened our first location in Dubuque, Iowa—a cozy 900-square-foot clinic focused on IV therapy and root-cause healing. From those early days, we knew this was more than just a clinic. It was a space for transformation.

As demand grew, so did we:

• In 2021, we launched The Hydration Station, a mobile IV clinic serving communities on the go.

• In 2023, we opened a state of the art healing center in Peosta, rebranded as The Health Spa—a retreat-like space designed for calm, comfort, and comprehensive care.

• Later that year, we expanded to Cedar Rapids/Marion, making our services more accessible across Eastern Iowa.

Every location is intentionally designed to feel safe, supportive, and peaceful. We don’t just offer treatments—we offer a different kind of healthcare experience.

Creating the Products We Couldn’t Find

Along the way, we also launched Select Balance Supplements, our line of practitioner-formulated, high-quality nutritional products. It started because we couldn’t find clean, effective, and trustworthy supplements that met our standards—so we created our own.

Today, Select Balance supports thousands of individuals across the U.S. and plays a key role in our patient care protocols.
