EBOO Therapy in Peosta, Near Dubuque

EBOO (Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation) is an advanced form of ozone therapy. During a session, a small amount of your blood is drawn through an IV line, passed through a specialized filter where it is exposed to medical-grade oxygen and ozone, and then returned to your body through a second IV line. The whole circuit is closed and sterile.

Patients choose EBOO as one part of an integrative care plan to support circulation, oxygen delivery and immune function. It is offered at The Health Spa by Vive in Peosta by our licensed medical team, and a provider reviews every patient first to make sure it is a safe fit.

Who May Consider an EBOO Session

  • Adults with autoimmune conditions or ongoing inflammation who want supportive care alongside their current treatment
  • People with complex chronic illness such as Lyme disease, mold illness or long COVID, as part of a provider-guided plan
  • People concerned about environmental or chemical exposures who are working on an overall detox and wellness plan
  • Adults who want to support healthy circulation and oxygen delivery

How EBOO Works

  1. Provider review: Before your first session, your provider reviews your health history, medications and recent labs to decide whether EBOO is appropriate for you.
  2. Blood draw: Blood is drawn through an IV line.
  3. Filtration and ozonation: The blood passes through a specialized filter where it is exposed to medical-grade oxygen and ozone.
  4. Return: The treated blood is returned to your body through a second IV line.
  5. Closed system: EBOO uses a closed circuit to maintain sterility throughout the session.

Safety Comes First

EBOO is performed by our licensed clinical team. It is not right for everyone. People who are pregnant, have G6PD deficiency, or have certain bleeding or clotting disorders are usually not candidates, which is why a provider review comes before any session.

EBOO is supportive care. It does not replace care from your primary doctor or specialists, and results vary from person to person.

EBOO Questions We Hear Most

How long does a session take?
Most sessions take 60 to 90 minutes.

How many sessions will I need?
Many patients start with one session a week for 3 to 4 weeks. Your provider will set a plan that fits you.

How is EBOO different from a standard ozone IV?
A standard ozone IV treats a set amount of blood in a bag. EBOO treats blood continuously through a filter during the session, so a larger volume of blood is exposed to oxygen and ozone.
