FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
HBOT in soft chambers is generally well tolerated when administered under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional. We will thoroughly review your medical history to ensure your suitability for HBOT therapy. History of acute lung punctures are not suitable for HBOT experiences.
What can I expect during a hyperbaric oxygen session?Sit/Lay back and relax while in a pressurized chamber while breathing oxygen. You may experience slight ear popping as pressure changes similar to a pressurized airplane. Some patients are concerned about feeling claustrophobic, but we have different chambers to choose from! You can even pass the time using your phone or laptop!
Are there any side effects to Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?Potential side effects like ear pressure changes or sinus congestion are usually mild and temporary. We’ll discuss them during your consultation. We recommend avoiding use on days when ears are plugged or heavily congested.
Is this the same as hospital HBOT?No. We use soft-sided chambers at a milder pressure, designed for comfort and wellness. Hospitals use hard-shell chambers at higher pressure to treat specific medical diagnoses. If you have been referred for medical HBOT, talk with your doctor about a hospital program.
